This Valentine’s Day, take your sweetheart on an adventure! Of course, you won’t be surprised to learn that our favorite kinds of adventure are road trips! So pack up some snacks, pick the most romantic songs for your playlist, and head out to some of these awesome destinations!
Antioch to San Francisco
One of the briefer trips on our list, Antioch to San Fran is only 45-50 minutes straight through. However, the trip to San Fran from Antioch has some great views and stops to take, with a destination that takes the cake! You’ll pass Mt. Diablo, with a great view and definitely worth a stop! Going through Oakland, you can enjoy the area around Jack London Shopping Center to get some ice cream or hot drinks. Those of course, can’t hold a candle to the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39, and even the Walt Disney Museum! Give your significant other a fun, thoughtful adventure
Muir Woods
About an hour and twenty minutes out, Muir Woods is mostly for the destination. If you and your significant other are all about the scenery and outdoors, this is the place. You’ll be faced with city streets for the first half of the drive, but the second half is beautiful forest scenery to enjoy. The tall trees seem to reach up forever, and there’s so much space to walk, talk, and explore just you and your loved one.
Napa Valley
If your loved one is a fan of wine, then this is the perfect place. It’s also about an hour out, but the road trip is driving through all the vineyards- and stopping at most of them because frankly, they’re all amazing. Although there’ll be so many wineries to stop by, be prepared not to drink if you’re the driver because there’s a lot to see!
Lover’s Point in Pacific Grove
Finally, we’ve got the most distant, most beautiful road trip ahead. Although Lover’s Point is the destination, the route is just as incredible. The two-hour drive will take you south through San Jose, Gilroy, Monterey, and into Pacific Grove with places to explore and ocean views in and out the whole way there. There are so many places we can’t possibly name them all, so this would be a great one to plan together with your sweetheart, so you can make all the stops you’ll both enjoy.
